Numerology is the ancient science of numbers and their relevance to our lives. It is not a religion but it does offer order and explanation to those who believe in a creator/God, universe or some intelligent design. This is because Numerology decodes and explains your divine path. You may call it your destiny, life's purpose, or simply "what our Creator put us here to learn & express." According to this science, your spiritual and physical blueprint is encoded in your birth name and date of birth. While numerology is not a religion or cult, it does involve belief. A numerologist believes that numbers hold a relevance to who we are, what we experience and when.
Numerologists believe that there is a divine (numbered) order to it all - every birth, death, promotion, move, marriage, etc. However, their belief in the laws of numbers is much like the biologist's belief in the laws of life-systems, protons or cells. Numerologists base their predictions on scientific/mathematical charts, in the same way other scientists do. For this reason, a numerologist may participate in organized religions, or not. They may choose to treat their study of numerology as merely a study of numbers. This distinction separates numerology from organized religions/cults. Along with aiding in personal revelation, numerology also offers explanations about the universe in general.
Is Numerology Mentioned in Religious Books like the Bible?
Absolutely. Numerology predates the Bible and many other religious texts. It is also included within their pages. Many references which hold a special meaning for a certain number is likely a numerology reference. You will not find the word numerology in most texts because the word itself wasn't used until 1907. Before then, it was considered an ancient science/meaning of numbers. Since Numerology was not thoroughly understood by the Bible's editors, the science was cast in the pot of the occult (which simply means hidden knowledge) along with Astrology. Any hidden, or occult universal information was later deemed forbidden/evil by Christianity. This kept followers from learning any universal truths which predated and conflicted Christianity's. However, numerology references appear as early as page one in the
bible's The Book of Genesis. "God rested on the seventh day" and seven happens to be the number of rest, according to this ancient science of numbers. The Bible even contains a book called The Book of Numbers. I will be sharing more examples of Numerology references in ancient texts in this blog.
