You'll be relieved to know that numerology's math is super simple. The only rule of thumb is that you reduce all double-digits to single-digit numbers when adding. No calculators needed!
Calculating Your Personality Number
Let's begin by calculating one of the most important numbers, your personality number. We will use my favorite celeb's birth date as our example:
Oprah Gail Winfrey
1/29/1954
Oprah was born on the 29th and so her personality number is calculated this way:
29 becomes 2+9
2+9=11
11 becomes 1+1
1+1=2
Oprah's personality number is an 11/2 or simply stated as 2.
Please note: In numerology some numbers (11,22,33, and 44) come with additional lessons and gifts. They are called Master (Visionary) Numbers and should not be reduced (when discussing meaning). We will learn about those more in depth later.
Yes, Oprah's personality, 11/2 should be read with some additional insights because the 11 is a "Master Number". However, for the sake of keeping it simple for ya, let's call it a 2. We'll first discover numbers 1-9 before we get into the master-ones.
Let's use Oprah's late friend, mentor and Phenomenal women Dr. Maya Angelou as our second example.

Dr. Maya Angelou
4/4/1928
Maya was born on the 4th and so her personality number is calculated this way:
4 remains... 4
Pretty simple for the single digit birth dates.

Let's try another double-digit birthday.
One of my favorite spiritual teachers, Deepak Chopra... rhymes with Oprah!! ;)
Deepak Chopra
10/22/1946
Deepak is born on the 22th and so his personality number is calculated this way:
22 becomes 2+2
2+2=4
I hope these examples helped. If you still have questions, please leave them in the forum. Your questions and answers can help our growing community of students.
